The West Africa francophone ccTLD workshop is part of AfTLD acelerated fast-track program to build the capacity of francophone ccTLDs in the West Africa Region.  The workshop will  be based on Initial Registry Operation Course (IROC) developed jointly by ICANN/ISOC/NSRC and will be in  French. At the end of the course participants will be able to manage their registries more efficiently and in line with best practice.

AfTLD as part of its strategic plan for 2011 - 2013 plans to engage in a fast track capacity building plan to ensure that at least 70% of African Region ccTLDs are managed in an efficetive and sustainable manner.

The IROC workshop in Dakar is the first of a series of ccTLD workshops planned for every ccTLD in Africa. Subsequent courses in Advanced Registry Operation Course (AROC) and Security Registry Operation Course (SROC) will be held in french for the benefit of the francophone community in the Africa Region.
